Addition Math Elementary Lesson Plan


Objective: Students learn fine motor skills by writing on small pieces of paper, cutting out words and number. They learn how basic math skills of addition. Art skills are also learned with arranging numbers by colors.

Supplies needed:
Paste (glue may be too messy for this project)
Orange, blue, yellow and red construction paper
Scissor
Permanent marker

1.  Write the number one on the orange sheet 20 times. Cut them into individual strips.
2. Glue them on the paper as shown above, leaving spaces for the plus signs.
3. Have your child fill in the plus signs and the equal signs; count them up.
4. Write the numbers 2-6 on the red paper and cut them out.
5. Have him paste the corresponding numbers in red to the sequence.

Tip: You can also choose not to glue the numbers and make it out of a game in which you can mix them up and have your child sort them any way they want by matching the addition problems to the right answers.
